Growth Unlocked

This will take us from here to there, as we embark on an extraordinary journey that transcends the mere act of recording a podcast. What began as a simple idea has blossomed into a nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing the complex issues surrounding trauma and mental health in the incarcel impacted community and their families. Yesterday marked a significant milestone in our mission ministry, as we laid the groundwork for an initiative that seeks to change lives and transform narratives.

Our podcast will serve as a cornerstone of this organization goals, acting not just as a platform for discussion but as a strategic tool for outreach. By engaging with those affected by trauma, we aim to foster understanding and provide a voice to the often-silenced experiences of individuals who have been impacted by captivity. The stories shared will illuminate the struggles faced by these individuals, shifting the perception from “prisoners” or “incarcerated” to “incarcel impacted people. (IPP)” This reframing is crucial; it recognizes their humanity and the complexities of their experiences, while also emphasizing resilience and the potential for redemption.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Omar Calvillo from the Wrong to Strong podcast program to our newly built podcast studio as we prepare to launch our own podcast channel by the end of the month. This collaboration has been a testament to the power of unity and teamwork, reflecting our shared vision and commitment to creating meaningful content. Omar is truly a top-notch individual, and his professionalism and passion resonate deeply with our mission.
Our work aligns closely with Omar’s, and we are proud to announce that we have become partners in victory, dedicated to unshackling those who have been held in captivity. This partnership represents not just a collaboration but a shared purpose to amplify voices that have long been silenced. Together, we aim to foster understanding and compassion for individuals impacted by incarceration, shedding light on their stories and experiences.
During his visit, Omar recorded an episode in our studio that stretched into the wee hours of the night. This episode will serve as a catalyst for our podcast’s introduction, “Unshackled Building Bridges.” It encapsulates the essence of our mission and sets the tone for the meaningful conversations we hope to foster.
As we embark on this journey, we recognize that our work is guided by a higher purpose. We believe that God is in control, directing our efforts and inspiring us to create content that not only informs but also transforms lives. This podcast is more than just a series of episodes; it’s a movement aimed at breaking down barriers, fostering healing, and empowering individuals to reclaim their identities. We are excited to share our journey with our listeners and to build bridges of understanding and hope within our communities.

We’re all about innovation, too. We recognize the need for tools and software specifically designed for those who’ve navigated the tough road of IIP. Technology can be a game-changer in providing mental health support and connecting people with resources that pave the way for healing and reintegration into society. Our mission isn’t just to support; it’s to push for systemic change in how society views and treats those IIP. Some folks might feel a little lost when it comes to tech, but they’re not helpless. For those of us who’ve grown up with technology, we need to see their potential, not their limitations.

As our motto says: “to transform trauma into victory by breaking barriers and fostering connections. Through our universal podcast, we amplify the voices of those bound by their past, fostering hope and healing for all.” This is our mission!

As we move forward, our commitment to changing the language surrounding incarceration reflects a deeper understanding of the trauma endured by many. By promoting empathy and compassion, we hope to create a more inclusive narrative that honors the journeys of those who have faced adversity. Together, we will work to dismantle stigma, foster healing, and empower individuals to reclaim their identities beyond their pasts. This is more than just a podcast; it is a movement toward a brighter, more compassionate future for all.

How did we get here…
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.”
